Alisher Navoi Days

Alisher Navoi Days

Fabruary 7–8

On February 9, we mark the 585th anniversary of the birth of Alisher Navoi. In his honor, we have prepared a special program. Navoi’s poetry is presented here not as a monument of the past, but as a living word that remains relevant today. The program includes a children’s book club based on a book about the poet from the Ildiz series, readings of Navoi’s ghazals and rubai in Braille, a digital poetry workshop, and a staged reading in collaboration with the Shamsi Kamar Theatre.

The works of Alisher Navoi were once copied by hand, memorized, and passed from person to person as precious treasures. Navoi served as a vizier at the Timurid court and was involved in the creation of gardens and libraries, yet he is best known to us as a poet who speaks of what still resonates today — love, separation, doubt, and the quiet dialogue between a person, the world, and oneself.

Attendance is by prior registration, and the number of places is limited. For any questions, you can contact us by phone, email, or via our social media pages at @acdflibrary
