As part of ACDF’s ongoing public programme — with the presence of internationally acclaimed contemporary designers on a research and craft immersion trip in mid February, the Nationwide Children’s Library will host a special ‘Designers In Conversation’ talk on Saturday, February 14th at 18:00.

‘Living Materials: Craft, Culture and Regeneration’ will feature acclaimed product designers Bethan Laura Wood (London), Marcin Rusak (Warsaw), Fernando Laposse (Mexico City) and Bobir Klichev (Tashkent), moderated by global design advisor Cyril Zammit.

After spending a week in Tashkent and Nukus to visit craftmasters, immerse in Uzbek bread-making culture and material research, and witness the socio-cultural impact of the Aral Sea — these designers take time to reflect on their experiences by framing local practices within a broader, global design perspective.
